Malva

Malva sylvestris zebrina
Variety:

Hardy to:             5a
Plant Height:      36-48"
Spacing:               18-24"
Sun Preference:  Part Sun to Full Sun
Flower Color:     White/Purple

Another plant that I was attracted to the color of the flowers--I love purple.  It is only hardy to zone 5 so I am not sure it will be  a perennial or an annual in my yard, but I think I will enjoy it this year anyway.

A herbaceous perennial with an erect and bushy growth habit. Depending
on climate, can be biennial. Easy to grow from seed, usually flowering
in the first year, but tends to be short lived. Prefers good drainage,
average soil. Thelavender pink flowers will bloom all summer, often
until first frost. Use in a perrenial or mixed border.
